The Lythe Valley

Join us for a leisurely day exploring some of the Lake District’s most picturesque spots. Our journey begins with a morning departure from Cheadle, travelling north with a short coffee stop along the way. From here, we enjoy a wonderfully scenic drive along the Old A6, passing Milnthorpe and heading towards Levens Hall before weaving our way through the tranquil Lythe Valley – a route known for its rolling landscapes, woodland views and quiet charm. 

We then continue to the lakeside town of Bowness, arriving around midday. Enjoy 1.5–2 hours of free time to find a leisurely lunch, browse the shops or simply savour the lakeside atmosphere at your own pace. 

In the afternoon, we head north travelling past Ullswater and through some of the region’s finest scenery. Our route takes us by Aira Force waterfall and onwards to Grasmere, arriving around 4pm. With an hour to explore, you can wander through this much-loved Lakeland village, visit local cafés, or pop into its famous independent shops. 

After a refreshing stop in Grasmere, we begin our return journey with a comfort break en route. We expect to arrive back in Cheadle around 7pm.
