Overview
An introduction to Explore Wales Conway & Beaumaris
Join us for a captivating day exploring two of North Wales’ most impressive historic towns – Conwy and Beaumaris – each crowned by magnificent castles built by King Edward I and recognised collectively as UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
Our first stop is Conwy, where the towering walls of Conwy Castle dominate the skyline. Exceptionally well-preserved, the castle still boasts its medieval royal apartments and sweeping views from the ramparts. The town itself is a delight to see, with its harbour, shops, cafés and imposing town walls offering plenty to see and do.
We then continue to the beautiful seaside town of Beaumaris. Though never fully completed, Beaumaris Castle is considered a masterpiece of medieval design – perfectly symmetrical and renowned for its concentric layout. The town surrounding it is full of coastal charm, with independent shops, pretty streets and relaxing waterfront views.
Entrance to the castles is an extra cost, but both locations offer plenty to enjoy even without visiting the interiors.
Whether you’re a history lover, a photographer or simply someone who appreciates a scenic day out, this trip brings together the very best of North Wales’ heritage.
