Overview
An introduction to Edinburgh for the Tattoo
The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo will return in 2025 celebrating 75 years with a new Show, The Heroes Who Made Us, running from 1-23 August 2025.
With a unique ability through its performers, music, and setting to evoke the emotions and stir the senses like nothing else, the Tattoo is an unmissable experience.
In the 75th year, you can expect the magnificent sounds of the massed pipes and drums and UK military musicians, with the lead service the British Army, filling up The Edinburgh Castle Arena alongside performances from the incredibly talented Tattoo performers and international acts.
We are staying at the Best Western Kings Manor Hotel on the outskirts of Edinburgh which is a great location for the Tattoo being close.
The Best Western Kings Manor Hotel is one of the most idyllic places to stay in Edinburgh, enjoying a quiet location in the capital city's eastern suburbs. Despite this calm and peaceful setting, you'll still have easy access to Edinburgh's many attractions, shops, bars and restaurants, which are just 20 minutes away. The hotel itself is a delightful 160-year-old building, boasting a rich history as it was once used as a convent. The Best Western Kings Manor Hotel Edinburgh places you only half a mile away from Musselburgh picturesque harbour and the golden sands of Portobello Beach, whilst Edinburgh Castle is just a 20 minute drive from the hotel. The Scottish National Gallery is also just 20 minutes away and stands as a neo-classical building with one of the world's greatest collections of fine art. Truly the best way to spend a rainy day. On a finer day, head to the Royal Botanic Gardens and enjoy the lavish landscape and greenhouses.
Our coach will be transferring passengers in to Edinburgh to spend time in the splendid city and will take passengers to enjoy the world class entertainment of the Tattoo.
