Lake Windermere

The Lake District is one of the most beautiful places in the UK, there’s no question about that. Getting there can be a bit of a pain, though, but that’s where coach hire comes in, taking the pressure off organising individual travel, as everyone is in one place and a friendly driver can do the hard miles for you. If you’re taking a coach to the Lake District soon, there are some must-see destinations for you to visit on your way. What’s better, with Bullocks private coach hire, you can plan your route around wherever you please!

Lake Windermere

A visit to England’s longest lake is a must on any coach trip to the Lake District! The lake is surrounded by beautiful towns that are definitely worth a visit, with the picks of the bunch being Ambleside, Keswick and Bowness-On-Windermere. All of these towns are accessible by coach with plenty of places to get dropped off and picked up, they also have fantastic connecting walks that allow you to soak in the greenery of the area on foot if you’ve sat down for too long! If the weather is suitable, you can head out on the water from one of many points on kayaks, canoes or boats, or you can jump on one of the many boat transfers from side to side departing from Ambleside, Brockhole, Bowness or Lakeside Pier. This allows you to put your feet up and take in the stunning views of the surrounding hills whilst you’re on board. Make sure to grab an ice cream just before you jump on though, there’s plenty of amazing ice cream parlours in these quaint towns that are not to be missed!

Aira Force Waterfall

Slightly harder to access directly by coach, but with many fantastic walks from many locations allowing you to get there, Aira Force waterfall is one of the Lake District’s most stunning settings. The waterfall itself is 65 feet and a walk up to the top gives you stunning views of the surrounding areas, something synonymous with many places you can visit in the Lake District. The whole area around the waterfall is full of amazing walks that can easily take up a full day, so consider getting dropped off by a coach in the morning, hiking for the day, and picked up in the evening. Ullswater Valley is nearby, a valley home to another simply breathtaking lake filled with scenery some can only dream of seeing. Aira and surrounding areas aren’t one to miss on your coach day trip to the Lake District!

The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction

Grab your friends and family, we’re going on a coach trip to the fascinating world of Beatrix Potter. This attraction features exhibitions based on the world-famous books written by Beatrix, a resident of the Lake District when she was with us. It was in the Lake District where her love for all things nature blossomed, a theme very prominent in her literature. The vibrant family attraction is perfect for all the family to visit, and it allows you to become engrossed in the fabulous writings of one of the world’s greatest ever authors. Explore the Peter Rabbit garden, sit down in the lovely cafe and purchase a gift to take back with you on the scenic coach journey home.

Lakeland Motor Museum

The perfect stop on a coach trip to the Lake District for motor enthusiasts, the Lakeland Motor Museum is housed in a converted mill near Lake Windermere and is home to 30,000 exhibits for you to explore. The museum traces the development of road transport throughout the 20th century with the vehicle exhibits accompanied by period shopping displays and authentic recreations helping to set the scene. The museum is the perfect stop no matter the weather, and is the ideal place to stop off on your coach journey, no matter the age of the party. You can get combined tickets for the museum alongside other nearby attractions, including the Haverthwaite Steam Railway, an attraction also worth a visit on your coach day trip to the Lake District.
