Solo travel

We all need a solo trip every now and again. A bit of me time is a self-care essential and it grants you the freedom to have a completely personalised itinerary. Solo coach travel is an exciting and liberating experience, the sense of adventure that comes over you as you first step onto the coach is unmatched and the sense of independence that accompanies it is equally as exciting! If you’re heading on a solo Bullocks Leisure Trip in the near future, here are some essential tips to ensure you make the most of your journey!

Pack light - The last thing you wanna be doing when you travel solo is lugging a big bag around with you full of non-essentials ‘just in case’ you need them. Trust yourself and pack light to ensure that your bag is easily portable from place to place, whether a small backpack or shoulder bag. Plus, this gives you a little bit more space for any gifts or personal treats you want to pick up, as we all know a bit of retail therapy is top-tier self-care!

Wear comfy clothes - The trip starts as you step onto the coach, so find your seat and get comfy! Wearing clothes you know you’ll be comfy in for the day is an essential tip as that’ll ensure your journey from start to finish is as relaxing as can be. Make sure you pack a decent raincoat if the weather is looking wet, we don’t want a drop of rain spoiling our solo trip do we now! Maybe some joggers and a nice hoodie combo is ideal as you’ll be super warm and comfortable on and off the coach, and you can feel warm wherever you are.

Trip essentials - Part of your ‘packing light’ procedure should involve the essentials. Sunglasses, suncream, simple medication, snacks, water and that book you’ve been meaning to read just to name a few suggestions. We don’t want a headache to ruin our day, and we also want to make sure we have some tasty treats for the coach journey just to make the travelling a little bit sweeter! Also, plenty of water for the journey is a surefire way of making sure you’re in tip-top condition as you step off the coach at your destination.

Take regular breaks - Walking around can be tiring, especially if you’re by yourself and want to make the absolute most of the trip by visiting every corner of the destination! However, it’s important you take regular breaks to rest your legs and relax. You should definitely enjoy some tasty bites to eat when you take a break too, at the end of the day, no one is there to stop you from enjoying an ice cream or slice of cake! This will ensure you’re refreshed and energised for the whole trip.

Stay connected - Whilst travelling solo, even though me-time is essential, it’s important you let your loved ones know how you’re getting on, just so they’re not worrying about this whilst you’re out and about on your adventures. Be sure to take some good photos to show them when you get back, too!

Embrace the adventure - Finally, solo travel offers a perfect opportunity for exploration and adventure, so make the most of it! Be open to new experiences and speak to as many people as you can, everyone has their own fascinating story! Be sure to engage in some local culture if you get the opportunity, too.

Solo travelling on a coach can be a rewarding and fascinating experience. So, why not head for a solo trip on one of our exciting upcoming leisure trips? The world is your oyster, book now!
