Didsbury Park
There’s nothing better than escaping the hectic pace of the city and soaking up some peace and tranquillity at Didsbury Park. Not only are the settings beautiful to admire, but there is also a plethora of activities to keep you and the whole family entertained, such as a children’s play area, a café with lovely outside seating and a nature reserve. With its well-maintained gardens and large open spaces, Didsbury Park is the ideal location to take a picnic or just to spend an afternoon reading a book in the spring and summer.
Heaton Park
Heaton Park is a historic area on the edge of Manchester that is guaranteed to suit all ages. Take advantage of the cafes, Animal Centre, Tram Museum, bowling greens, golf course, boating lake as well as vast open spaces perfect for picnics and meeting friends. Keep an eye out for events too, with the likes of outdoor concerts, festivals, plays and dramas being held here.
Fletcher Moss Park and Botanical Garden
Tucked away in Didsbury, Heaton Park is a little piece of heaven on Earth! With its array of colourful plants and trees, it certainly makes for an ideal Instagram shot. The beautiful park is cleverly structured to protect the rock gardens and even features mini waterfalls, palm trees and giant rhubarb floating in a pond. Not only that, but it’s also home to a vast range of wildlife such as birds and small mammals, so you’re never short of a gorgeous sight!
RHS Bridgewater
The former site of Worsley New Hall, RHS Bridgewater, is a heritage landscape that has been transformed into an iconic RHS Garden.
